The Menopause Life Now

Hello, it’s Deanna, and I started The Menopause Life Now because, frankly, I couldn't find the kind of honest, real-world menopause talk I was looking for. You know, the kind where someone tells it like it is, without sugar-coating the experience or making it sound like just a phase we need to "get through." Where someone will tell you that life can be a struggle and some days life is HARD.

My menopause journey kicked into high gear after my hysterectomy, and let me tell you, it's been quite the ride. Between managing diabetes alongside menopause symptoms, dealing with the infamous brain fog, and trying to maintain my busy day job, I've learned a thing or two about navigating this challenging time of life. And you know what? Most of the time, I’m still floundering. And you know what else? That’s OKAY.

Here's what you need to know about me and this site: I'm not a medical professional (and I'll always be upfront about that). What I am is someone in the thick of it, sharing my experiences, challenges, and discoveries as I figure things out. Think of me as that friend who's walking the same path, just a few steps ahead or behind, ready to share what I've learned along the way.

On this site, you'll find my (relatively) unfiltered thoughts about everything from dealing with insomnia (my constant companion) to managing unexpected symptoms that nobody warned me about. I talk about the good days, the tough days, and all those in-between days when menopause throws a curveball at me.

Why do I do this? Because I believe we need more real conversations about menopause. Not just the clinical stuff (though that's important too), but the day-to-day reality of living with hormonal changes while trying to maintain a normal life. Sometimes that means talking about serious health impacts, and other times it means discussing why my lip balm suddenly smells like sheep (yes, that's a real post!).

My approach is pretty straightforward: I share what I'm experiencing, what works for me, what doesn't, and what I'm learning along the way. I'll break down complex medical terms into plain English, share resources I've found helpful, and always encourage you to be your own best advocate when it comes to your health.

This isn't just my space - it's our space. A place where we can talk openly about menopause, share our stories, and support each other through this journey. Whether you're just starting to notice changes, in the middle of the storm, or looking back from the other side, you're welcome here.

You'll find (sort of) regular updates about my ongoing journey, practical tips for managing symptoms, and honest discussions about the challenges we face. I believe in keeping it real - sometimes that means celebrating small victories, and other times it means admitting when things are tough.

Join me here on the blog, in our Facebook community, or through our newsletter. Let's navigate this menopause life together, one day at a time. Because while menopause might be unpredictable, you don't have to face it alone.

Remember, we're all in this together, and sometimes just knowing that makes all the difference in the world.

Want to stay connected? Sign up for our newsletter to get the latest posts and updates delivered straight to your inbox, or join our Facebook group to connect with other women who get exactly what you're going through.

Be well, and remember to be kind to yourself.

xoxo
