Taking it one day at a time

The Menopause Life Now

Hello, hello, I had the best intentions of getting a bunch of posts and articles written. In fact, I actually have a lot of them recorded, but I just haven't had the energy to put them together and turn them into posts. I still need to convert the transcripts into text and then edit them.

I've been on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for a few months now - more details about that later. However, we've had some issues adjusting the dosage levels and a boatload of side effects. I started on estrodiol about three months ago, but my doctor adjusted the dosage lower. Then we had to adjust it back up because the lower dosage wasn't working.

Between taking it the first time, dealing with side effects of each dosage change, adjusting back up, and my body adjusting to the hormone levels, it's been a very rocky month. I feel like I've lost a month just dealing with trying to get my hormones and estradiol adjusted to the right levels - and I'm still not entirely there yet.

Most days are a struggle just to minimally hit all my work deadlines. I'm not managing to do anything extra or the more creative work I really need to do outside of regular client deadlines. That's been difficult. But I'm trying to be kind to myself and understand this is a process and journey I'm taking one day at a time.

Today, I got my regular work done and cleared my week for an incoming project. However, the client told me it's not ready yet, so that project has been pushed out to next week. This frees up my week to catch up on other things or get some creative work done. If I don't, I'll try not to beat myself up too hard over it.

I hope everyone is doing okay. Please leave a comment or join us in the Facebook group for daily check-ins on how each other is doing.

xoxo
